Farewell
After 13 years leading our school community, it is time for me to farewell you all. I cannot describe the mixed emotions I am feeling right now. I am so excited to begin in my new role and look forward to learning new things and sharing my experience with others.
But of course, I also feel really sad to be leaving the community, students and staff that I love. I am immensely proud of the work we have done together to build a safe and supportive school environment where students feel welcome, challenged and supported to realise their potential. I thank you all for your kindness and support over many, many years.
I would like to acknowledge the outstanding staff of Mango Hill SS. They are the most dedicated, kind and caring staff that have shown me such loyalty and support and I am so grateful to have worked with them. I especially would like to acknowledge my wonderful leadership team who show unwavering support. I will really miss their clever thinking and friendship.
It is my pleasure to welcome my good friend and colleague Angelique Padgett to step into the principal role. She is an outstanding leader and person and I know she will take the school into the next phase. Ange is unable to start at MHSS until 19 July so Ellaine Warner will be principal for the first 7 days of Term 3.
Best wishes to you and your families and I do look forward to crossing paths again.
Welcome from Mrs Padgett
I feel privileged to have been given the opportunity to lead Mango Hill State School from Term 3.
I bring with me to Mango Hill State School a background in public education dating back to 1995. I spent 15 years as a teacher and deputy principal in Hobart before relocating to Queensland in 2008. I’ve held principal positions in Metropolitan and North Coast schools, most recently at Burpengary State School.
As a public educator I embrace the professional values that underpin my profession:
- High expectations that all students can succeed
- Communities play a pivotal role in the development and success of students
- Quality teaching in a supportive environment underpins quality learning outcomes for all students
- Inclusive practices support and embrace the diversity of students
As Principal of Burpengary State School, I have been fortunate enough to work closely with Mango Hill State School teachers and leaders over the past four years exploring quality curriculum, teaching and learning and most recently student wellbeing.
As a Principal I have always looked to the community to enable and enact improved learning outcomes in partnership and look forward to continuing the great work at Mango Hill State School.
I commence on Wednesday 19 July and look forward to working alongside all parents and carers as soon as possible.
In anticipation, thanking you for your support.
Have a safe and restful Term 2 break.
Happy Holidays
Once again, thank you for such a successful term. Have a safe and happy holiday. School resumes on Monday 10 July.
Have a wonderful week

Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD)
Every year, all schools in Australia participate in the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD). The NCCD process requires schools to identify information already available in the school about supports provided to students with disability. These relate to legislative requirements under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 and the Disability Standards for Education 2005, in line with the NCCD guidelines.
Information provided about students to the Australian Government for the NCCD includes:
- year of schooling
- category of disability: physical, cognitive, sensory or social/emotional
- level of adjustment provided: support provided within quality differentiated teaching practice, supplementary, substantial or extensive.
This information assists schools to:
- formally recognise the supports and adjustments provided to students with disability in schools
- consider how they can strengthen the support of students with disability in schools
- develop shared practices so that they can review their learning programs in order to improve educational outcomes for students with disability.
The NCCD provides state and federal governments with the information they need to plan more broadly for the support of students with disability.
The NCCD will have no direct impact on your child and your child will not be involved in any testing process. The school will provide data to the Australian Government in such a way that no individual student will be able to be identified – the privacy and confidentiality of all students is ensured. All information is protected by privacy laws that regulate the collection, storage and disclosure of personal information. To find out more about these matters, please refer to the Australian Government’s Privacy Policy (https://www.education.gov.au/privacy-policy).Further information about the NCCD can be found on the NCCD Portal (https://www.nccd.edu.au). If you have any questions about the NCCD, please feel free to contact your child’s Deputy Principal.
