Learning in Technology
Students this term have been using design thinking and technologies to generate and produce designed solutions for authentic needs and opportunities. They have also been using computational thinking and information systems to define, design and implement digital solutions.
In Prep and Year 1, students have been designing environments and enclosures for animals to suit their needs. In Year 2, students have been programming beebots using a sequence of steps and decisions and Year 3 students have been planning a sequence of steps to create an interactive game using Scratch Jnr. In Year 4, students are creating a KeyNote presentation on ‘Mango Hill State School’ to an audience of their choice and in Year 5, students are designing a product that will support an animal in the local environment. In Year 6, students have been designing a sustainable garden. We look forward to seeing students’ final designs, solutions and games this week.
NAPLAN Online
For families of students in Year 3 and Year 5, there will be a parent information session for NAPLAN online from 8.45am on Friday 29th April, in the school hall. If you have any questions regarding NAPLAN online, but cannot make it to the information session, please email your child’s classroom teacher, myself (dxobr0@eq.edu.au) or Ben Mills (bxmil3@eq.edu.au).
Have a fantastic week
