Team Mango We All Belong!

Care Class
This week in Care class we are Caring for Self by being aware of how we can be safe in the sun and in the water- especially as we are heading into the holidays. It is important that we are caring for our bodies by wearing a hat, sunscreen and sunglasses when in the sun. Staying hydrated and drinking lots of water is important too.
If we are near water ways such as pools and the beach, being aware of and following the rules will help us to stay safe. Remember to swim between the flags at the beach and know where your adult is when you are at a pool.
Stay safe and have a wonderful holiday!
Reading at Mango
Reading in Year 6
As our Year 6 students prepare to transition into high school, strong reading skills are more important than ever. In Year 6, we’re focused on giving students the tools they need to become confident, independent readers who can tackle complex texts across all subjects.
A big part of this work involves going beyond phonics and fluency to explore how words are structured and carry meaning – a skill set known as morphology.
Some of the ways we have put morphemes to work this term include -

Instrumental Music
We are now starting the recruitment process for the Instrumental Music Program in 2026. If your child is interested in being involved in the strings (violin, viola, cello, double bass) or band program (brass, woodwind or percussion instruments), please scan the relevant QR code on the flyer for more information and to fill out the online expression of interest form.
P&C News
The end of Term 3 is upon us, how did that happen so quickly? We'd like to thank all the volunteers we've had support us through the year so far, we absolutely appreciate all you do!
We're still very keen to get some extra help in the canteen, so if you have an hour or two to spare each week, Jodi and the team would truly appreciate your help.
Also, next year, the P&C will be looking for people to fill the positions of Treasurer and Secretary. If either of these are of interest to you, please email Belinda at PandCPresidentMHSS@outlook.com and she can answer any questions you may have.
