Every Day Counts: The Importance of Attendance
Every school day counts. Regular attendance is vital to student learning, social development and overall wellbeing. When students miss school, they miss out on important learning opportunities and valuable classroom experiences. If your child is absent, please remember to notify the school office with a reason for the absence as soon as possible.
If your family is experiencing any challenges with getting your child to school, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are here to support you.
Starting the Day Right: The Importance of Being on Time
Arriving on time is just as important as attending. At Mango Hill State School, each day begins with a morning meeting or morning circle, which is a key part of our Berry Street Education Model (BSEM). This time allows students to connect with their teacher and peers in a calm, predictable routine that supports engagement, builds wellbeing and fosters a sense of belonging.
Missing this part of the day can leave students feeling unsettled and disconnected. We encourage families to help their children start the day in the best possible way—by being at school on time, ready to participate in this important practice.
If you would like to know more about what your child’s morning meeting looks like, please reach out to their class teacher.
