Learning in Prep

Some of our Prep classes recently hosted ‘learning walks and talks.’ This involves members of the Prep and Leadership team going into classrooms and talking to the students about their learning. Children were asked questions including what are you learning, how are you going, how do you know, what’s your next step and where do you get help. The visitors were very impressed at the way our Prep learners shared their work and explained their learning including the big purpose – drawing pictures to share our ideas (about events), including what they were working on to improve their work. Thank you to our learners in Prep V, T, B and K for talking with the visitors and explaining our English work this term.

Here’s an exciting example of an event in Prep K, a volcano experiment! After the event, children drew a picture to share their ideas of what happened using details and labels. Amazing work Prep K!

Attendance

Every day matters at school and especially in Prep. This is because learning in Prep lays the foundations for learning thoughout schooling. Attending every day means your child does not miss content, experiences or opportunities to connect with teachers and friends. If your child is unwell, they should stay home and rest. If your child is well, please make sure they are at school so we can keep on learning!
